Sound Biography made me realise what I have missed. My Dad used to tell his stories of the war and he seemed to be always the hero. The family and I tired of the same stories over and over again and asked him to stop or, more impolitely, just left the room. Now, I can remember only one story and I can't tell it like he did. I would love to hear just one more story, in his own words and with his own voice. I would cherish that forever. It's too late for me, alas, but I'll make sure I leave something for my children.
